Lately, the trains haven’t been so bad. Or perhaps I’ve become immune to their inefficiencies. We did have a terribly slow journey home on… Tuesday, was it? We crept and crawled half the way and then put on a spurt as we got close to Essex, making up some time but still rolling in late.

Go west… eventually

Manningtree is causing problems again. I’m sitting on the station, on a bench, not entirely warm, waiting for another delayed train into work. This morning it’s overhead line problems at Manningtree causing the hold-up. Yesterday it was a vehicle strike. Delays on three days out of four so far this week. It isn’t getting any better.

Another Monday, another delay

Another Monday morning of delays. This time it was signalling problems, which isn’t entirely uncommon. I find it very suspicious that these issues most often crop up on a Monday, after a weekend when much of the line has been closed for maintenance.
